Personal Thoughts & Style Bloom Linkup

fashion blog, dc fashion blog, creative blog, art y Elena FayIt’s been a while since I posted something new here and I thought I’d take the time and share some thoughts that’ve been bugging me for a while.

I’m almost 36 weeks pregnant now and sometimes I feel like a hamster on the wheel. I want to make our home perfect for our fast growing family and also keep growing this blog and my Etsy shop. There are days when I wake up with so much energy and so many ideas and I want to accomplish them all but, by the end of the day, I feel totally drained and can’t even move my hand. Running around with my 2 year old toddler getting harder and harder especially with this huge baby bump:). Many doors have opened since I started blogging and I want to keep going, but there are always things I keep thinking about.

Will I be able to manage it all with 2 little kids? Is it possible to be a successful blogger/ entrepreneur and a good mom?

And you know what? I believe it is possible! We (moms) just need to set clear expectations and make a good plan. It’s OK to take it easy and stop being worried about posting less. It’s OK to say no to some projects. It’s Ok to have a pizza day once a week and forget about cooking at least for one night, right?:) I decided to take small steps to archiving my goals and the most important thing is to take a proper care of myself because I want to enjoy every second of being a mom and a business woman and it’s not gonna happen If I’ll be stressed out all the time.

Ladies, we can do this, right? Share you advice about how do you manage your time with your family and business (in a comment) and don’t forget to submit your link to your style post!

Are you ready for a Style Bloom LINKUP party? Rules are very easy:

1. Link to your latest outfit posts, not your blog’s main page.

2. Include a link to DC in Style somewhere in your post.

3 Meet amazing people and have fun!!!

Balancing a career and mommy-life is definitely doable. But you are absolutely right. You have to take it easy, give yourself time and prioritize. Your babies come first and opportunities for work will come 🙂 Don’t worry about posting less. I took a blogging hiatus when my second one was born. it was unexpected but I just could not do it and it was more a stress than having fun. Then I went back to blogging when i was expecting my third and I just continued. This is unexpected too: i have been blogging everyday since my 4th one is born. I do it when they are asleep in the middle of the night.. or when they are napping. 🙂
But since blogging and your etsy shop is your career, my advice is once you are ready you might need a babysitter for a couple of hours to watch your children while you work. Sometimes nap time and in the evenings may not be enough… just a recommendation. Good luck and excited to see your new one… pretty soon!

    • Wow Sarah, I can’t even imagine myself with 4 kids-you are a superwoman!!!!!!! Thanks a lot for your advice, I’ll definitely take it easy especially during first few months, I’m also super excited about my mom coming to US to stay with us for 2 months, so it’s gonna be very helpful!
      Have a beautiful day

Having family is the best! My Father in law takes the children a couple of days a week even though I am on leave. it helps catch up on sleep 🙂

I struggle with one child and always wonder how people with more than 1 do it. It just gets done – it will be crazy but you and your hubby will be awesome!

    • I knooooow, me and my hubby always complain how difficult it is with a little baby! I remember, we went shopping once and I saw a mom with 4 kids and she was so calm and kids were listening to her- that was the moment when I realized that everything is possible and complaining about little stuff is just a waste of time and energy

  • Without children is hard to keep on blogging and you have 2 little kids! Respect! Don´t let stress you.. your kids will always stay on no 1! We all can wait 🙂

have a good time and thanks a lot for hosting

    Dana 🙂

  • I have a two and four year old, so I remember what you are going through. I would sometimes put my oldest in a high chair and lay on the couch next to him to get any rest when I was pregnant! It isn’t easy to be a parent, but it’s what I am most proud of, so anything else I accomplish is icing on the cake. I have to let go of a lot, but some things do get done in spite of the exhaustion 🙂 One day, when they are busy with friends we will miss all this dependence (I think).

Yes, its been a while but I still like popping by to join your link-up party! Alle the best and Thanks for hosting! Sabina | Oceanblue Style

  • Elena, it’s not easy being a triple thread. Things may not get done perfectly, your house may not be neat and clean, every meal may not get cooked and prepared but that’s okay. That’s what life is about. If things are too perfect then imagine how boring that would be? Can’t wait to meet your new bundle of joy!!!
